The faculty of the department are actively involved in research. Material Chemistry, Corrosion Inhibition Studies, Nano Chemistry and Synthetic Organic Chemistry are the thrust areas of research. Apart from doctoral studies the faculty also apply for research projects funded by various government and private organizations. The outcome of research is visible in paper publications in journals of national and international repute. The department also has recognised Ph.D guides.
