Venur: A Mega Blood Donation Camp was organized at Shree Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Industrial Training Institute, Venur under the initiative of the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, in collaboration with KMC Hospital, Mangalore.
The camp was conducted with the support of several organizations including the SDM ITI Alumni Association, Manjushree Rovers Unit, Padmamba Group of Institutions Venur, Kukkedi Milk Producers’ Cooperative Society, Kukkedi Gram Panchayat, Lions Club Venur, Lions Club Mangalore, Metro Gold, Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society Venur, Phalguni Seva Sangha Venur, South Canara Photographers’ Association (DK & Udupi District, Belthangady Zone), Manjushree Bhajana Mandali Kundadabettu, and Devadigara Seva Vedike Venur.
The program was inaugurated by Mr. V.S. Jayaraj, President of Phalguni Seva Sangha, Venur. In his address, he stated that blood donation is one of the noblest forms of charity, as it helps save many lives.
Dr. Shanthiprasad, a renowned physician from Naman Clinic, Venur, who was felicitated during the program, expressed his satisfaction in serving countless underprivileged patients at affordable costs and thanked the institution for the honour bestowed upon him.

Presiding over the function, Principal Mr. Vishweshwara Prasad K.R. emphasized that understanding the importance of charity from student life and participating in noble social service activities like blood donation helps in shaping responsible citizens.
Dr. Shatroopa, Medical Officer from KMC Hospital, Mangalore, provided detailed information about the importance and benefits of blood donation.

A total of 110 units of blood were collected during the camp.

Felicitation
During the ceremony, Dr. Shanthiprasad of Naman Clinic, Venur, was felicitated by the institution in recognition of his remarkable service to society.
The program began with a prayer by student Kumari Prabha. NSS Programme Officer Mr. Padmaprasad Basti delivered the welcome address, Junior Training Officer Mr. Shravan Kumar proposed the vote of thanks, and the event was compered by NSS Programme Officer Mr. Sathish.
