Diesel Mechanic Trade

This trade focuses on the repair, servicing, and overhauling of diesel engines to ensure efficient performance and long operational life. This course provides comprehensive practical training to prepare students for careers in automotive, industrial, and heavy equipment sectors.

Students are trained to examine diesel engines to identify defects using various tools and testing instruments. Engines are dismantled fully or partially to remove damaged or worn-out components, which are then repaired or replaced. Training includes valve grinding, precision assembly of engine parts, and supplementary machining operations to ensure accurate fitting and proper functioning.

Students learn to start and tune engines while monitoring parameters such as temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure to achieve optimum performance standards.

Daily inspection, adjustment, lubrication, and preventive maintenance procedures are emphasized to maintain engines in proper working condition. The course also covers soldering and brazing operations, along with servicing of diesel fuel pumps and injectors.

With modern diesel engines incorporating electronic systems, students gain basic knowledge of electrical systems and computer-based diagnostic tools.
