A one-day workshop on “Student Case Studies and Remediation” was organized for teachers with the objective of enhancing their understanding of students’ academic, behavioural, and emotional needs.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Vishwanath P., Principal of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College, Ujire. Addressing the gathering, he spoke about the responsibilities of teachers, the essential skills required in the teaching profession, effective methods of preparing students for the future, and the vital role teachers play in shaping young minds.
Dr. Kavyashree K. B., Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, St. Agnes Postgraduate Studies Centre, Mangaluru, introduced the theme of the workshop and provided an overview of its objectives and activities. Ms. Manisha assisted in coordinating the workshop.
Mrs. Parimala M. V., Headmistress of the School, briefed the participants on the importance and relevance of the workshop. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Kavya. Mrs. Geetha was the Master of Ceremony for the programme, while Mrs. Rama Rajesh proposed the vote of thanks. The workshop was attended by Mrs. Hemalatha M. R., Headmistress of SDM English Medium School, Belthangady; Mrs. Vidyalakshmi Nayak, Headmistress of SDM English Medium School, Ujire; and the teaching staff of SDM English Medium Schools of Dharmasthala, Ujire, and Belthangady.
The workshop provided valuable insights into understanding student behaviour, addressing academic and personal challenges, and adopting effective strategies to support students’ overall development. The sessions enabled teachers to gain practical knowledge and enhanced their ability to guide students effectively, thereby contributing to their holistic growth and well-being.
