Maha Shiva Rathri at Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala is an awaited occasion every year, and for the most rightful reasons.
Last night witnessed the celebration of the festival by over 25,000 devotees who came walking to Dharmasthala and stayed up all night chanting Panchakshari Pathana.
A year already to the Bahubali Maha Mastakabhisheka ceremony of Dharmasthala, that happened in February 2019. Also, 4th of February is the day the Bahubali monolithic of Dharmasthala was consecrated after years of contemplation & hardwork, way back in 1975. To mark the occasion, a special ‘Paada Pooje’ ritual was organized at the Rathnagiri hill yesterday, where the feet of Lord Bahubali were anointed with 216 units of fluids.
With the final ‘Gaurimaaru Katte’ utsava, the grand 5-day long Lakshadeepotsava at Dharmastala came to an end on the 26th of November. After the circum-rounds to the temple and worship of the Kshetrapaala, the celebrations were officially done for the year. Thousands of devotees from around the state quite literally swarmed into Dharmastala, unfurling a whole new dimension of ‘crowd’ at the temple town.
