Mass Marriages

Realizing that marriage of the daughter was a huge cause of concern for the rural folk, Dr. Heggade devised an innovative and path breaking plan. In 1972, he held the first Mass Marriage function where 88 couples tied the knot.

The ceremony was meaningful and simple but was celebrated nonetheless. Gifts were given to the couples, gold mangasutras were gifted to the brides, food was provided for the guests and no stone was left unturned to make the occasion a special one. This is the 43rd year of this revolutionary idea and over 11,657 have already gotten married in this revolutionary and convenient fashion.
