With the final ‘Gaurimaaru Katte’ utsava, the grand 5-day long Lakshadeepotsava at Dharmastala came to an end on the 26th of November. After the circum-rounds to the temple and worship of the Kshetrapaala, the celebrations were officially done for the year. Thousands of devotees from around the state quite literally swarmed into Dharmastala, unfurling a whole new dimension of ‘crowd’ at the temple town.
The literary festival, all-faith convention and other cultural events were also the highlight of the event. Various exhibitions and cultural displays alongside the eye catching lights added splendour to Lakshadeepotsava, making the event widely successful and enigmatic. Dr. D Veerendra Heggade, acknowledging the people’s devotion towards Dharmastala, has stated that it drives him to do better for the society, and has emphasized on the importance of an ethical & religious foundation for a strong literal society.
