Ujire, July 21: A warm and memorable farewell was accorded to the outgoing students of SDM Women’s ITI College, Ujire, in a programme that highlighted the importance of values, discipline and lifelong learning.

Inaugurating the function, Shreya Shetty, news channel anchor, said that SDM Women’s ITI has been instrumental in shaping students not only through technical education but also by instilling discipline, punctuality, self-confidence, moral values and life skills.

“May these values continue to guide you throughout your life. Wherever you go, uphold the name of our institution with dignity and respect,” she said. Recalling her own college days, she encouraged the students to embrace continuous learning, make hard work their companion, contribute positively to society, and strive for excellence in their careers and personal lives.

Chief guest Nishan Bangera Narya, reporter of News Release Weekly, wished the outgoing students success in all their future endeavours.

Addressing the gathering, Amaresh Hebbar, Vice Principal of SDM Polytechnic College, Ujire, congratulated the management, principal and staff for their dedicated service in transforming the institution over the past two decades and appreciated their collective efforts towards its all-round development.

Vishweshwar Prasad, Principal of SDM ITI College, Venur, noted that many students of the institution are employed in reputed companies. He urged the students to uphold the discipline and reputation of the institution wherever they work and to continue their higher education to achieve greater success.

Alumni Rupa Shetty, a member of the institution’s first batch, expressed her happiness over the remarkable progress of the college, & one more senior alumni of the same batch Shashiprabha extended her best wishes to the outgoing students.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhanya Kumar, Student Welfare Officer of SDM Educational Society, said that graduation marks the beginning of a new journey rather than the end of education. He stressed that the true purpose of education lies in developing character, discipline, responsibility and a spirit of service, and urged students to uphold these values throughout their lives.

Principal Prakash Kamath welcomed the gathering and outlined the institution’s achievements. Sandhya proposed the vote of thanks.

A special attraction of the programme was the “Monsoon Dishes” festival, during which students prepared and shared a variety of homemade seasonal delicacies, including jackfruit and mango-based snacks, traditional dishes and sweets, symbolizing the spirit of unity and togetherness that defines the institution.
