SDM Education Society established SDM ITI for Women in 2006 at the Manjushree Building, Belal Road, Ujire, which is a rural area nearby the historical place Dharmasthala. The institution functions under the management of the SDM Education Society® Ujire.
The institute initially started with one trade, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA), and received affiliation from DGET in 2008. Another trade, Sewing Technology, was introduced in 2011 after obtaining affiliation in 2010.
In June 2015, the institution was re-affiliated by NCVT through QCI accreditation and became the fourth institution in Dakshina Kannada District to receive this recognition. Based on social needs and industry demand, the Sewing Technology trade was later renamed Fashion Design and Technology and received affiliation from DGT in 2024.
Being independent, creative self employed women in rural area, they would become owned their own business and to lead happy life.
We at SDM INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INSTITUTE FOR WOMEN, UJIRE, BELTHANGADY TALUK are committed to develop skill sets suitable to the advancement of manufacturing and service sectors; to Providing good infrastructure and facility to meet the contemporary needs; helping rural Women to become independent in life and mainstreaming them is another major objective of the institution. This institute was establish with the main aim of imparting skills in different trades to the students of rural area to get employed in Industries or self-employed
The Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational [SDME] Society, Ujire®, was established with the primary objective of making education both accessible and affordable to rural youth. Guided by its hallmark vision—”Adding Value into Education”—the Society today oversees 56 educational institutions across Karnataka, spanning from Kindergarten to Doctoral Studies. These institutions offer high-quality education across diverse disciplines, including General Education, Law, Technical, Medical, and Management Studies. Emphasizing both value-based learning and industry-relevant skill Component, the SDME Society ensures its students are well-equipped to meet the challenges of a dynamic world.

In addition to providing educational information, our goal is to ensure that the female students are well respect in society. For this, we have been providing special training like life skills and personality development along with the curriculum. In addition, we provide our students with many opportunities to develop 21st century skills such as critical thinking, emotional balance, time management, and much more.
