Kaveri Institute of Technology & Engineering (KITE) was established in 1998 by the Kaveri Vidya Trust in Hassan, Karnataka, at the foothills of the Western Ghats. What began as three engineering branches has grown into a six-department institution, accredited by NAAC and with NBA accreditation across multiple departments, while keeping the same founding intent: rigorous, hands-on engineering education, delivered close to the communities it serves.
Today KITE runs undergraduate programmes in Computer Science, Information Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, each shaped by department-specific labs and field programmes rather than a one-size curriculum.

Kaveri Vidya Trust
KITE is run by the Kaveri Vidya Trust, registered in 1997 by a group of Hassan-based educationists and industrialists with a shared conviction: that first-generation engineers from the Malnad and Mysuru region deserved an institution built to the same standard as anything in Bengaluru, without requiring a move to the city. The Trust today runs three institutions across Hassan district, of which KITE, established in 1998, was the first.
Sri. B. K. Gopalakrishna
Chairman, Kaveri Vidya Trust — a first-generation entrepreneur and Hassan district native who has chaired the Trust since its founding in 1997.
Sri. M. R. Vishwanath
Sri. Vishwanath has served as President of the institution since 2011, overseeing the college's expansion from three founding branches to the present six, and its NBA accreditation cycle. He holds a background in industrial management and continues to chair the placement advisory committee personally.
Dr. S. Chandrashekar
Dr. Chandrashekar took charge as Principal in 2019, having previously served as Dean (Academics). A mechanical engineer by training with a Ph.D. from NITK Surathkal, he has led the college's NAAC accreditation renewal and the recent expansion of the central research facility.
