For Dr. Heggade perhaps the most daunting task of being a Dharmadhikari was to witness people suffer because of social and economic factors that they were beyond their control. It was then that Dr Heggade realized that to truly help this cycle of suffering he had to make changes at a more fundamental level so as to eradicate the root of the problem.
Rural Development

With 70% of India’s population living in rural areas, it was a natural decision to start there. Rural development has been an area that is very close to Dr. Heggade’s heart, and through SKDRP he has found a special place in every farmer’s heart. The Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) was founded to provide financial stability and to make positive social changes in the lives of farmers and the rural communities at large. The Trust is to this day providing much needed relief and growth opportunities.

Youth Programs

Dr. Heggade went on to repair those who were already broken because of substance abuse and personal and familial tragedies. De addiction camps and Navajeevan Samithis have proven to be a new lease of life for especially the youth.With initiatives like RUDSETI and RSETI, Dr. Heggade gave the rural youth something to look forward to. A future.

Ayurveda and Wellness
“The more you let Ayurveda and yoga into your life, the easier your life gets.”
In 1987, Dr. Heggade turned his attention to the lack of health and wellness in the community. India being the land of Ayurveda and Yoga, was now plagued with poor health and unhealthy lifestyle. With the aim of reviving these ancient gems and to make them a part of every Indian’s life, Dr. Heggade founded the Yoga and Nature Cure Hospital under Shantivana Trust. The management also runs other charitable hospitals, colleges, schools and provides free education for the deserving.
