
The Veergatha initiative, organized by the Ministry of Education in partnership with the Central Board of Secondary Education and the Ministry of Defense, recently hosted a national competition for students in Grades 3 to 12. Among the top hundred students selected nationwide, Sathvik Bhat from Class 10 distinguished himself with his outstanding performance in the painting competition. This achievement granted him the privilege of participating in the Republic Day celebrations in Delhi on January 26, 2025, where he received recognition from the Defense Minister.
Sathvik’s impressive accomplishment was apprecited by Dr. Satheeshchandra, Secretary of the SDM Educational Society, Mr. Manmohan Naik, Principal of SDM English Medium School, Ujire, and the school’s faculty members. To honor his success, a felicitation ceremony took place at the school on January 27. The School Parliament leaders warmly welcomed Sathvik, while Mrs. Shanty George formally addressed the gathering. The Principal acknowledged the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Dhanya Kumar, Students’ Welfare Officer of SDME Society, along with his Academic Audit Team. Sathvik’s parents, Mr. Girish Bhat and Ms. Swathi G. Bhat, were recognized with floral tributes.
Mr. George introduced Sathvik to the audience, after which the guests presented him with honors. Class leaders expressed their admiration and best wishes by gifting him roses. Sathvik then shared his inspiring experience with those in attendance. The event was expertly managed by Prithvi from Class 8, who served as the master of ceremonies and delivered the vote of thanks.
