
On September 21, a workshop entitled ‘Phonetics in Action: Engaging Young Minds’ took place at the S.D.M. Kindergarten block, Ujire. The workshop featured Mrs. Vidya Narayanan, the Academic Excellence Manager from Oxford University Press, Bangalore was the resource person. She shared her extensive expertise on the significance of phonics in early childhood education. Mrs. Narayanan articulated the intricacies of phonetic sounds, highlighting their crucial role in developing language skills in young learners. Through her valuable insights, she showcased creative and interactive approaches to teaching phonics, inspiring educators to foster a joyful and engaging learning environment for children.
Mr. Sujit, the Zonal Manager from Oxford, Mangalore, was present for the event. Educators from SDM English Medium schools located in Ujire, Dharmasthala, Belthangady, and Mangalore, particularly those involved in Kindergarten and Primary education, participated in the workshop.
The session was overseen by the school’s Principal, Mr. Manmohan Naik K.G. The event, which was compered by Mrs. Madhura, commenced with a prayer led by Mrs. Suma Srinath and Mrs. Smrthi Jain.
