He was speaking at an awareness program on prevention and management of alcohol and drug abuse, organized by the Red Cross. In his 30 years of experience, he has seen many alcoholics and how it has affected their families. He emphasized that no scripture advocates alcohol consumption. The college principal, Sunil Pandit, who presided over the program, advised students to participate in all college activities with dedication and not get addicted to any vices. Winners of various competitions held on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami were awarded prizes by the chief guests. All students took a pledge to prevent and control alcohol and drug abuse during the program. The program was attended by the college’s vice principal Manish Kumar, Red Cross unit coordinator Prashant Poojari, staff of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Grama Abhivruddhi Yojane, and teaching and non-teaching staff of the college. English department lecturer Parshwanath Hegde compered the program and welcomed the guests.
