SDM Residential Pre-University College
Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Residential Pre-University College located at Ujire it’s a small town near Dharmasthala in Belthangady taluk of Dakshina Kannada district. Residential college is one of the premier colleges in Karnataka, providing opportunities to students from all around the state. Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, the president of SDME Society decided to start a separate Pre-University Science College for boys at Ujire to meet the growing demand. As a result, Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Residential Pre-University College was started on 01.07.2003. It admits students only for the science stream for I year and II year Pre-University classes.
The President of S.D.M.E. Society Padmabhushan Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Vice Presidnets Sri. D. Surendra Kumar and Prof. S Prabhakar, Secretaries Sri. D. Harshendra Kumar and Dr.Satheeschandra S have a keen interest towards this college and provide guidance; suggestions and inspirations which have made this college grow in leaps and bounds. As a result, this college attracts the students not only from all over Karnataka but also from outside Karnataka. The students of this college receive a special recognition everywhere. There are eight sections altogether including four sections in both I year and II Year. The maximum capacity of each section is 40 and thus a maximum of 160 students each in I PUC and II PUC get opportunities to pursue their education. Right from its inception, the college has been receiving excellent results every year. The college provides quality education, and it makes every effort in this regard. Besides the quality education it provides ample opportunity to students to bring out their hidden talents. They take part in curricular and non-curricular activities too. They are trained to face challenges and equipped with skills.
