“Sri Siddhavana Gurukula does not merely house students; it smelts gold from raw clay. Character, humility, hard physical labour, and selfless duty are woven into the heart alongside college degrees.”
Living Voices & Core Facilities
Every facility at Sri Siddhavana is an ashram of learning designed to cultivate inner discipline and lifelong camaraderie.
Dinacharya: Dawn to Dusk

Brahma Muhurta Wake Up & Silent Contemplation
The melodious morning gong echoes through the verdant valley. Students wake up without alarms, make their beds neatly with military precision, and spend 15 minutes in private morning gratitude.
“Waking at 5 AM for 3 uninterrupted years made procrastination permanently impossible in my adult life.” — Alumnus Batch '93
Daily Asana, Surya Namaskara & Pranayama
Held in the open-air pavilion surrounded by tall trees. 12 rounds of Surya Namaskar followed by Sarvangasana, Paschimottanasana, and Nadi Shodhana pranayama to oxygenate brain cells.
“The rhythmic breathing with dawn birds in Ujire gave us an iron constitution.”
Shramadhan, Agriculture & Kamadhenu Goshala Seva
Students participate in organic areca nut grove maintenance, paddy field weeding, vegetable garden nurturing, or serving pure indigenous Gir cows at the Goshala. Followed by a fresh bath and hot Satvik breakfast.
“No job in life is too small if done with pure devotion.”
Academic Excellence at SDM College Ujire

Universal Evening Prayers & Sandhya Bhajans
The entire Gurukula gathers at the Prarthana Mandir. Chanting of the Bhagavad Gita chapters, traditional Kannada devaranamas, and 10 minutes of complete pins-drop silence.
“Those 60 minutes washed off all fatigue from the longest college lectures.”
Night Swadhyaya (Study Hours) & Restful Sleep
A pin-drop silent study environment overseen by student ministers. After warm milk and prayers, lights are dimmed at 10:30 PM for a restorative rest in the cool valley air.

Alumni Voices Across Decades
Generations who walked these quiet paths reflect on how Gurukula discipline sculpted their life journey.
“When I was undergoing grueling IPS physical training at the National Police Academy, officers asked me where I built such lung stamina and spine agility. I smiled and whispered, 'The misty 5:30 AM Surya Namaskars on Siddhavana ground under master supervision.' Gurukula taught us that physical discipline is spiritual resilience.”
“We didn't just study botany and commerce from textbooks. We waded knee-deep in monsoon mud, transplanted paddy saplings, harvested golden grains, and cleared drainage canals. That dirt under our fingernails broke our ego. Today my agritech startup feeds thousands because Gurukula taught me the sacred sanctity of mud and honest sweat.”
“Milking the cows at dawn, grooming the calves, cleaning the cattle shed, and drinking hot pure boiled milk straight from our Goshala—it gave me unconditional reverence for life. When dealing with complex corporate boardrooms today, the patience and kindness I practice comes directly from the gentle brown eyes of Siddhavana's cows.”
“The evening bell at 6:45 PM would gather hundreds of us. When our collective voices chanted the universal prayer — 'Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah' — with harmonium and mridangam, all worries vanished. Even now, whenever life creates high anxiety, I shut my eyes and return to the fragrance of incense in Siddhavana prayer hall.”
“There are no hired cooks or cleaners in Siddhavana. We took turns managing the dining hall, maintaining library quietness, keeping premises spotless, and supporting weaker peers in mathematics and physics. That democratic self-reliance is why our alumni adapt seamlessly to any crisis anywhere in the globe.”
“My father was a poor daily-wage tailor who couldn't afford a single college term hostel fee in the city. Siddhavana took me in, gave me clean rooms, three hot satvik meals a day, pure milk, and books without charging 1 rupee. That unearned grace made me pledge to fund scholarships for 100 children every year.”
