Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Education, Ujire was established in the year 2007. It is affiliated to MangaloreUniversity and is recognized by National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi. SDM College of Education is one among the reputed Educational institutions run by Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Society (Regd.), Ujire, under the Presidentship of Rev. Dr. D. Veerendra Hegde, the Green Oscar awardee of the year 2012. SDM College of Education focuses its attention on developing skilled value based quality teachers for the future generation. The college is enriched with all the facilities and well experienced faculty to achieve these objectives the college organizes seminars, workshops, guest lecturers, field visits on regular basis.

SDME Society
The Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational [SDME] Society, Ujire®, was established with the primary objective of making education both accessible and affordable to rural youth. Guided by its hallmark vision—”Adding Value into Education”—the Society today oversees 56 educational institutions across Karnataka, spanning from Kindergarten to Doctoral Studies. These institutions offer high-quality education across diverse disciplines, including General Education, Law, Technical, Medical, and Management Studies. Emphasizing both value-based learning and industry-relevant skill Component, the SDME Society ensures its students are well-equipped to meet the challenges of a dynamic world.
