For Dr. Heggade perhaps the most daunting task of being a Dharmadhikari was to\u00a0<\/span>witness people suffer because of social and economic factors that were beyond their control. \u00a0It was then that Dr Heggade realized that to truly end this cycle of suffering he had to make changes at a more fundamental level so as to eradicate the root of the problem.<\/span><\/p>\n

With 70% of India\u2019s population living in rural areas, it was a natural decision to start there. Rural development has been an area that is very close to Dr. Heggade\u2019s heart, and through SKDRP he has found a special place in every farmer\u2019s heart. The Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) was founded to provide financial stability and to make positive social changes in the lives of farmers and the rural communities at large. The Trust is to this day providing much needed relief and growth opportunities.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Youth Programs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Heggade went on to rehabilitate those who were misled because of substance abuse and personal and familial tragedies. De-addiction camps and Navajeevan Samithis have proven to be a new lease of life for especially the youth. With initiatives like RUDSETI and RSETI, Dr. Heggade gave the rural youth a future to look forward to a future.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Ayurveda and Wellness<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe more you let Ayurveda and Yoga into your life, the easier your life gets.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In 1987, Dr. Heggade turned his attention to the lack of health and wellness in the community. India is the land of Ayurveda and Yoga, was now plagued with poor health and unhealthy lifestyle. With the aim of reviving these ancient gems and to make them a part of every Indian\u2019s life, Dr. Heggade founded the Yoga and Nature Cure Hospital under Shantivana Trust. The management also runs other charitable hospitals, colleges, schools and provides free education for the deserving.<\/span>
