July 7th 2026 A parents’ meeting for the parents of students from Classes V to X was organized at SDM English Medium School, Dharmasthala.
The chief guest, Mr. Vivek Vincent Pais, Secretary of the Akhila Karnataka Janajagruti Vedike, inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized that children should be guided with value-based and subject-oriented education rather than being exposed to negative influences. He explained the importance of imparting culture and moral values to children, the role of parents as role models, and the need for education to enlighten both the mind and the heart. He also highlighted that the virtues and character of parents are reflected in their children. His speech was enriched with examples, anecdotes, and references from the Panchatantra, the Vedas, and other traditional sources.
The programme was compered by the school’s assistant teacher, Ms. Kavya. The Headmistress, Mrs. Parimala M. V., welcomed the gathering. Students, parents, and Teachers of the school actively participated in and benefited from the programme.
