World Music Day

On 20/06/2026, World Music Day was celebrated grandly at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara English Medium School, Dharmasthala. The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest, Mr. Lakshminarayana Rao, Administrative Officer of Dharmasthala Temple, by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Later, the musical instruments donated by benefactors were formally inaugurated. Tabla instructor Mr. Vivek Baliga played the tabla, Mr. Lakshminarayana Rao played the harmonium, and the School Correspondent, Mr. Anantha Padmanabha Bhat, played the keyboard, thereby officially launching the training programme for accompanying musical instruments in the school. Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of music and other cultural activities in a student’s life. They explained why such activities, along with academics, are essential in the modern world and how they contribute to the overall development of students. Later, a musical concert featuring performances by students was organized. The programme included flute recitals and keyboard performances, through which World Music Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Mr. Mallinath Jain and Mr. Shambhu Shankar were also present on the occasion. The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Headmistress, Mrs. Parimala M.V. The teaching staff and students of the school actively participated in the event and immersed themselves in the joy and melody of music.
