In a bid to promote awareness and dispel myths surrounding menstruation, a special lecture was organized at SDM College, Ujire, on July 24. Dr. Priyanka Jayadev, a gynecologist at SDM Multi-Specialty Hospital, was the resource person for the event. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Jayadev emphasized that menstruation is a natural process and nothing to be ashamed of. She highlighted the importance of maintaining hygiene during menstruation and discussed Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal disorder affecting women of reproductive age.<\/p>\n
Dr. Jayadev explained how PCOS impacts menstrual cycles and overall health. She stressed the need for early detection and treatment of PCOS to prevent long-term complications. College Principal Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde presided over the event and emphasized the significance of both mental and physical well-being.\n The program was jointly organized by the Women’s Development Cell, Student Welfare Committee, and Social Responsibility Initiatives Committee.
