Involvement in the arts nurtures concentration and aids holistic development. Embrace the path of art and bring pride to both the college and yourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Newly appointed coordinator of the Kalakendra and Assistant Professor in the Kannada Department, <strong>Dr. Naganna D.A.<\/strong>, spoke on the occasion and welcomed the newly enrolled students. \u201cArt extends its hand to everyone, but it chooses only a few,\u201d he reflected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Sridhar Bhat<\/strong>, Academic Registrar of SDM College, presided over the function and recalled the institution\u2019s earlier days. \u201cIn the past, despite student interest, there was no structured training for Yakshagana. Today, from costume and makeup to performance, everything is well-organized. Students now have the resources to grow as both artists and informed audiences,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Student <strong>Amogh Shankar<\/strong> presented a report on the achievements of the Kalakendra over the past year, highlighting awards and recognitions earned by student artists.
