The Department of PG Studies and Research in Chemistry successfully organized the One Day National <\/strong>Level <\/strong>Seminar on Advances in Synthetic Organic Chemistry<\/strong>along with the Chemistry Fest ‘CHEMSHODHANA-2025’<\/strong><\/strong>on 24-03-2025 at SDM PG Centre, Ujire. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and researchers, making it a significant academic gathering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar featured two insightful sessions. The first session was delivered by Dr.<\/strong> <\/strong>Anilkumar<\/strong> G., Professor at MG University, Kottayam<\/strong>, who spoke on recent advancements in Synthetic Organic Chemistry<\/strong>, highlighting innovative research approaches and their real-world applications. The second session was led by Dr.<\/strong><\/strong>Manjunatha<\/strong> <\/strong>Channapur<\/strong>, Principal Research Scientist at Syngenta Biosciences, Goa<\/strong>, who discussed emerging trends in chemical research, with a special focus on sustainability and industrial applications of green chemistry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chemistry Fest, ‘CHEMSHODHANA-2025,’ featured seven engaging events<\/strong> that drew participants from 18 undergraduate and postgraduate colleges<\/strong> across Karnataka and Kerala<\/strong>. The fest provided a platform for students to showcase their knowledge and skills in chemistry through various competitions. In the undergraduate section<\/strong>, SDM College, <\/strong>Ujire<\/strong> emerged as the champions<\/strong>, while PPC Udupi<\/strong> secured the runners-up<\/strong>position. In the postgraduate section<\/strong>, University College, <\/strong>Hampanakatta<\/strong> claimed the championship title<\/strong>, with Mangalore University, <\/strong>Konaje<\/strong> finishing as runners-up<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was meticulously organized under the leadership of Dr.<\/strong> <\/strong>Vasanth<\/strong> Kumar, Assistant Professor<\/strong>, as the Organizing Secretary<\/strong>, and Dr.<\/strong> Rajesh N <\/strong>Hegde<\/strong>, Assistant Professor<\/strong>, as the Joint Organizing Secretary<\/strong>. Student coordination was efficiently managed by Mr. <\/strong>Khushi<\/strong> R. Gowda and Ms. <\/strong>Varshitha<\/strong>. The seminar and fest were highly appreciated for their well-structured sessions and engaging activities, fostering academic exchange, research discussions, and a spirit of healthy competition among students. The event concluded on a high note, marking a memorable occasion in the academic calendar. Dr. SowmyaB.P., Dean, SDM PG Centre welcomed the g<\/a>athering and Dr. Nefisath P., proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Sonakshi, II MSc Organic Chemistry and Ms. Farhan, I MSc Organic Chemistry hosted the program.<\/p>\n\n\n
