Yashovarma Memorial &#8216;Yashovana&#8217; Botanical Garden Inaugurated"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The &#8216;Arboretum&#8217; (botanical garden) at SDM  College, known for its rare plant species, was renamed as &#8216;Yashovana&#8217; in memory  of Dr. B. Yashovarma, a distinguished educationist, environmentalist, and  former Secretary of Institutions. The inauguration ceremony took place 30th of  March evening.<<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">\n  Dr. M. Mohan Alva, President of Alva&#8217;s  Education Foundation, unveiled the entrance gate of the Arboretum, which is  designed in the Indonesian style, featuring the concept of &#8216;Gateway to Heaven&#8217;.  Alongside, Dr. P. L.  Dharma, Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University, unveiled the &#8216;Yashovana Green  Zone&#8217; plaque. Dr. Hemavathi V. Hegde from Dharmasthala inaugurated the  information plaque card related to Yashovana.<\/p>\n  <p style=\"text-align:justify;\">\n  The  program was chaired by Dr. D. Veerendra Hegde, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra  Dharmasthala and President of SDM Educational Institutions, who, in his  address, analyzed the significance of &#8216;Yashovana&#8217; as a crucial step towards the  realization of the dream of rejuvenation. Saplings  were distributed symbolically to Pradeep, Prakash, and students involved in the  maintenance of Yashovan.<\/p>\n  <p style=\"text-align:justify;\">\n  Among the dignitaries present were Dr. Pratap  Simha Nayak, Dr. Harshendra Kumar, Dr. Sathishchandra S, Secretarys of SDM  Educational Institutions; and Sonia Varma from &#8216;Ninada&#8217;; K.N. Janardhana,  Director of Siri, Mr Pooran Varma CEO of\u00a0  IT and Hostel Administration at SDM Educational Institutions. Dr. B.A.  Kumar Hegde, Vice Principal of SDM College, welcomed the gathering.
