He was speaking at the inauguration of a one-week  international faculty development workshop on &quot;Teaching, Learning,  Pedagogy and Research with Multiple Intelligences&quot; organized by the  Department of Commerce and CAPE COMORIN Trust at SDM College Ujire on January  25.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\n  In the age of innovation, the role of teachers  in making students creative and innovative is important. To do this  effectively, teachers themselves need to develop, he said. Dr. B.A. Kumar  Hegde, Principal of SDM College Ujire, who presided over the function, said that  teachers should not only adapt their learning but also spread it. It is  necessary for teachers to adapt to new pedagogical models to meet the active  learning needs of students, he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">  \n  The workshop is being attended faculty members  from various colleges and universities in India and abroad.
