The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of SDM College, Ujire in association with Media Alumni Association of Mangalagangothri (MAAM) organised a State Level Workshop on \u2018Hyper Local Media: Operation and Sustainability\u2019 on 29 November 2023 at Seminar hall of the college. The President of MAAM Association Naveen Ammembala and Honorary President of MAAM Venu Sharma were the guests of honour. The President of Suddi Group of Companies and Editor of Suddi Bidugade Dr. U. P Shivanandh inaugurated the Workshop. Principal of SDM College, Dr. B.A Kumar Hegde presided over the programme.<\/p>\n
\n The workshop commenced with a session on \u2018Hyper Local Media Commercial Perspective: Market Strategy for Revenue Model\u2019 conducted by Venu Sharma, Management Consultant, Founder and CEO of Myantharathma organisation, Mangaluru. \u00a0The second session was led by Sharath Hegde, Head of Shwetha Initiative, Bangalore. He provided a comprehensive overview on the topic \u2018Hyper Local Media Creating Thriving Ecosystem.\u2019 Suresh Puduvettu, CEO and Chief Editor of Day2Day News, Mangaluru delivered an insightful lecture on \u2018Short News in Digital Age.\u2019 Venu Vinod K.S, Chief Reporter of Udayavani, Mangaluru threw lights on \u2018Prospective and Challenges of Hyper Local Media.\u2019 \u00a0The Workshop saw the active participation of students from different colleges. A total of 150 participants get benefitted from the workshop.
