\u201cStudents should focus on specialization i.e., studying more and more about the less and also should fix the vision on enhancing the skills which are much needed for the graduates in order to compete in this competitive world\u201d said, Dr. B. A. Kumar Hegde, Principal, SDM College, Ujire. He addressed the Chemists who were gathered at the inaugural function of CONCHEM (Consortium of Chemists) 2023-24 held on 20 October 2023. Chemistry department is the most vibrant and the active Department which always aims at the overall betterment of the students and it is the duty of students to make utilize of it, he added.\nChief Guest of the programme Dr. Kalappa Prashantha, Professor, ACU \u2013 Centre for Research and Innovation, Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Adicunchanagiri University B G Nagara, Mandya who has focused on the need of good behavior in the students in order to succeed. He also discussed on the issues of polymers which are threatening the lives of other organisms and the need of alternative for it.\nPresident of the programme Dr. Vishwanatha P Dean, PG Studies and HoD has appreciated the department for conducting the various activities under the banner CONCHEM. He has stressed on the need of elevating the soft skills by the budding Chemists in order to survive in the competitive world in his Presidential address.\nDr. Shashiprabha Assistant Professor and Secretary CONCHEM has welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief guest to the audience. She also narrated about the aims and visions of CONCHEM.\nThe glimpse of the various activities and the programmes conducted under the CONCHEM, in the previous academic year were screened before the audience. The first wall magazine of this academic year titled \u201cQUANTUM DOTS\u201d was unveiled by the Chief Guest. \nMiss Supriya K and Miss Shruti V have served as Master of Ceremony. Dr. Rajesh N Hegde Assistant Professor and Joint Secretary CONCHEM proposed the vote of thanks. All the faculty members of Chemistry Department and students were present at the programme.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
