"Dakshina Kannada district has made a great contribution to the field of weightlifting, its culture, diet, lifestyle and training are tailor-made for athletes," said Karnataka State Weightlifters Association Secretary S.H. Anandegowda.<\/p>\n
He was speaking at the inaugural function of the Karnataka State Weightlifting Championship 2022 program to be held from November 27 to 29 at Indraprastha Auditorium of SDM College Ujire on behalf of the college and Karnataka State Weightlifters Association.<\/p>\n
Athletes should participate in sportsmanship and not seek other ways to win. He said verbally that they should achieve by using the facilities.
\n Inaugurating the program, Secretary of S.D.M Educational Institutions Dr. Satheeshchandra S said that, India has been giving a lot of importance to sports from the very beginning and currently the sports field is quite developed like other fields. Educational institutions are also giving more importance to sports. He said that Indian athletes are achieving in international level sports events.<\/p>\n
Principal Dr. P.N. Udayachandra presided, Principal of S.D.M PUC College Prof. N. Dinesh Chowta, Director of Physical Education of various colleges, judges were present.\n Ramesh H., Director of Physical Education department of S.D.M. College delivered the welcome address,Mr. SuveerJain, Department of Social Work narrated the programme.
