Speaking on the history and significance of Mole day, Ms. Swathi. M of III B.Sc, B section said , \u201cMole day is celebrated every year on 23 October from 6:02 a.m. to 6:02 p.m to commemorate Avogadro&#8217;s Number (6.023&#215;10<sup>23<\/sup>) which is a basic unit of measuring in chemistry. She also said that Avogadro&#8217;s work was recognized nearly fifty years after he had made his hypothesis, when two years after his death his colleague, showed how the utilisation of Avogadro&#8217;s number could solve many of the problems in chemistry\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On this occasion, the first issue of departmental digital magazine \u2018e-Spatika\u2019 was unscreened by Mrs.Nanda Kumari.K.P, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry. The programme was co-ordinated by Ms.Sandhya.M. of III B.Sc B section.
