Overview
An 8-acre arboretum with more than 400 plant species arranged by the Bentham and Hooker system, themed vanas (Nakshatra, Rashi, Ganapati, Durga, Teerthankara and Ashoka), a nursery and greenhouse, and over 25 rare, endemic and threatened species. Set up in 1999 to conserve Western Ghats flora, it supplies free medicinal saplings to farmers, NGOs and students and runs workshops. A playground in the arboretum is used by neighbourhood children.
