Literature plays a crucial role in upholding the ideals of humanity, emphasized Kaikasi V.S., Assistant Professor at Mankada Government Arts and Science College, Malappuram, Kerala. She was speaking at the inauguration of Esperanza, a national-level inter-collegiate fest organized by the English Studies and Research Department at SDM College, Ujire.

Expressing concern over the growing influence of technology in education, she stated that platforms like Google, artificial intelligence, and Meta are reshaping students’ learning patterns. However, literature as a discipline cannot be entirely grasped through technological means. Classroom discussions and traditional teaching methods foster fundamental literary debates and deeper understanding, she added. Presiding over the event, SDM College Vice Principal, Nandakumari K.P., highlighted that both knowledge and creativity are essential for realizing ambitious dreams.
