Intellectual victories are achieved only when debates lead to meaningful conclusions, observed MLC K. Pratapsimha Nayak while inaugurating the Mangalore University-level inter-collegiate Kannada debate competition at SDM College, Ujire. The event was organized in memory of Sri Ratnavarma Heggade.

Presiding over the program, Dr. Satishchandra S., Secretary of SDM Educational Society, highlighted that debates are a crucial part of communication skills. He emphasized that mastering the art of debate allows students to create a distinct identity. The event commenced with a short documentary on the life and contributions of SDM College founder, D. Ratnavarma Heggade.

College Principal Prof. Vishwanath P. was present, while Dr. Krishnananda, Padmaraj, and Dr. Madhava M.K. served as judges for the debate. Assistant Professor Naganna D.A. welcomed the gathering, and Dr. Sudheer K.V. delivered the vote of thanks.
